GBM – Grodan Big Mama 200 mm Cubes (18/ctn)
Grodan's largest block, built to hold large plants long term.
At 200 mm square, Big Mama is Grodan's largest block, about twice the size of the Hugo. Grodan designed it to keep full-grown plants going long term, and its vertical water distribution helps prevent waterlogging while the roots keep growing. Big Mama is a solid block with no plant hole. When a plant in a smaller Grodan block is ready, sit that block on top of the Big Mama. Grodan stone wool is naturally slightly alkaline, so soak at pH 5.5 to bring the block to approximately pH 6.2. Saturate with nutrient solution at EC 2.5 to 3.5 mS/cm until each block weighs at least 6,400 g. Avoid over-watering in the first few days. After that, steer with dry-backs: smaller, more frequent shots for vegetative growth, and larger, less frequent shots with deeper overnight dry-backs for generative growth.
